Honeywell 250 Series Thermal Switch Miniature Hermetic Thermal Switch

Honeywell 250 Series Thermal Switches

Delivering High Current Capacity in High Vibration and Shock Environments

Honeywell 250 Series Thermal Switches Honeywell's 250 Series snap-action Thermal Switches are specifically designed for applications requiring more than 5 amperes at 28VDC resistive in a robust hermetic package. It is used in applications as diverse as commercial aircraft, missiles, radars, locomotives, battery systems – basically any place where a robust package, higher voltages and or currents are required than can be managed by a subminiature thermal switch. The hermetic all-welded construction of the 250 Series allows use in a broad range of temperature and altitude applications. It is available in a variety of configurations and comes with either solder terminals or screw type lugs. The capabilities of the 250 series is a result of larger scale; larger contacts, larger glass to metal seals, larger spring deflection, larger bimetal disc diameter and thickness. Because of the size, the design is thermally very stable. The mounting hardware is equally robust. Some users have selected the 250 series because it is mechanically solid compared to half inch mechanism. A few have used it to mechanically secure other parts while simultaneously acting as a switch.
